Carbon Re-bed Service

Activated Carbon Filters are used for reduction of chlorine, tastes, odors and some dissolved organic chemicals from water supplies. This is achieved due to the adsorption of the contaminants on to the activated carbon bed surface. With periodic backwashing, accumulated suspended matter is eliminated and fresh adsorption sites are exposed.

Over a period of time, the carbon bed loses the capacity for reduction of chlorine or taste/odor. This situation is identifiable by a gradual chlorine smell in water, indicating breakthrough. At this point, the carbon bed needs to be replaced by fresh activated carbon.

Neotec provides carbon re-bed services all over the GTA region. High quality fresh activated carbon is used to replace the exhausted carbon bed. Tanks are cleaned, sanitized and inspected prior to re-installation.
